Focus on aloe vera in cosmetics.
Aloe vera is a succulent plant that has been cultivated for over 5,000 years by various major civilizations, particularly for cosmetic use. Traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicines, followed by Greek, Egyptian, and African, have since their origins used this plant to heal and protect the skin. According to legend, even Cleopatra regularly used it to enhance her beauty!
In Europe, aloe vera in all its forms (I.N.C.I. names: Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Polysaccharides, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water) is authorized for use in organic cosmetics according to the COSMOS standard. It helps to soothe inflammations such as sunburns, hydrate the skin, and smooth wrinkles. When applied to hair, it purifies the scalp, combats dandruff, and moisturizes the hair to prevent the occurrence of split ends.
How to use aloe vera for the skin?
In order to soothe redness and/or hydrate the epidermis, aloe vera gel can be used either in its pure form or combined with other compounds in a cosmetic formula. As such, various galenic preparations containing aloe vera gel are currently available on the cosmetic market. This natural compound can be found in creams, refreshing lotions, cleansing gels, after-shave treatments, after-sun milks, deodorants, and more.
Aloe vera skincare can be safely usedseveral times a dayand thisdaily. It is not photosensitizing(it does not increase skin sensitivity to the UV rays of the sun), pure aloe vera gel or a product containing it can be applied morning and evening. However, make sure to protect your skin every morning with a broad-spectrum sun protection. Our SPF 30 sunscreen is precisely enriched with aloe vera to prevent any skin dehydration.
How to use aloe vera for hair?
Thanks to its polysaccharide content, aloe vera gel acts by forming a protective film on the surface of hair fibers to maintain hydration and combat dryness. Rich in vitamin E and A, these areantioxidant compounds, it also protects the hair from external aggressions (pollution, UV rays...) and thus limits their deterioration. Finally, it is also recognized for purifying the scalp and effectively fighting against dandruff.
Pure aloe vera gel can be used as a mask to rehydrate hair fibers and/or cleanse the scalp. Depending on your needs, apply it to dry hair, from roots to tips, and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing thoroughly with water. To reap its benefits, you can also incorporate a few drops into your regular shampoo. Moreover, some hair care products are already enriched with aloe vera gel, such as masks, conditioners, or even oils.
