Find out more

The baobab is a tree typical of Africa and emblematic of Senegal. It thrives in warm, semi-arid regions and can live up to 3,000 years, surviving long periods of drought. It is considered the largest succulent plant in the world. Its name derives from the Arabic "bu hibab," which means "fruit with many seeds," as its fruits can contain hundreds of seeds. Baobab oil is recommended in Senegalese pharmacopoeia for its anti-allergic and soothing properties. Rich in essential fatty acids (omega-6 and 9), which give it reparative properties, in cosmetics, this vegetable oil nourishes the skin and prevents the appearance of stretch marks.
