Details

Properties

  • Antioxidant: Combatting reactive oxygen species induced by multiple sources (sun exposure, stress, smoking...), which are responsible for the acceleration of skin aging due to the high presence of carotenoids and tocopherols;

  • Glowing Skin Effect: Providing the skin with a sun-kissed complexion due to the natural orange to red color of buriti oil;

  • Photoprotective: Helps to shield DNA from the harmful effects of the sun's UV rays by providing the skin with a light sun protection. It has the ability to absorb UV rays, in addition to being able to activate the natural synthesis of melanin due to the presence of carotenoids;

  • Relipidation: Stimulating the natural production of sebum by the sebaceous glands and restoring the skin's protective coating to reduce insensible water loss, thereby maintaining skin hydration, due to its richness in monounsaturated fatty acids.

Applications

  • Facial Care(masks, creams, serums, makeup removers, lotions, lip balms, facial oils, self-tanning treatments);

  • Body Care(Exfoliating creams, bath oils, hand and foot creams, sunscreens, shower gels, after-sun care, body creams, tan extending lotions);

  • Hair Care (shampoos, conditioners, hair balms, color protection masks, detangling creams, protective oils).

Also known as Aguaje, the Buriti is a palm tree native to the Amazon rainforest. Indigenous populations regard it as a sacred tree and nickname it the "tree of life" due to its multiple uses. In cosmetics, Buriti oil acts as an emollient and an antioxidant due to the presence of carotenoids. It is excellent as an after-sun oil to prolong tanning, as well as to restore skin hydration and elasticity.
