Profile: Wrinkles Around the Eyes
Definition:
Fine oblique grooves extending from the outer corner of the eyes towards the temples (crow's feet or smile lines). These are expression lines that can appear as early as 25 - 30 years of age, caused by the repeated contractions and relaxations of the orbicularis oculi muscle. They gradually deepen and are amplified with the aging of tissues, which is explained by dehydration and loss of skin elasticity.
Internal and external causes:
The fragility of the periorbital area (thin skin with few sebaceous glands), repeated movements of the skin in this facial area (blinking, wrinkling, smiling...), skin aging, prolonged exposure to the sun and blue light, smoking, alcohol consumption, pollution.
How to reduce or eliminate:
Use a regenerating, filling, and firming eye contour care (hyaluronic acid, coenzyme Q10, peptides, probiotics...); aesthetic medicine (hyaluronic acid injection, thread lifts, botulinum toxin injection, deep chemical peel treatment, fractional radiofrequency, fractional CO2 laser).
Preventative steps to take:
Clean around the eyes daily, not forgetting to remove makeup in the evening; provide daily hydration to the eye contour with a treatment containing hyaluronic acid, for example; protect the eye contour from the impact of pollution and free radicals that weaken it by choosing a treatment containing antioxidants such as vitamin C, ferulic acid...; perform self-massage; incorporate an eye serum or cream into your beauty routine from the age of 25 that boosts the production of collagen and elastin (coenzyme Q10, retinol, prickly pear oil, peptides...); apply a sunscreen specifically designed to protect this delicate facial area every day to counteract photo-aging; get enough sleep (7 to 8 hours per night); drink 1.5 liters of water every day; protect your eyes with sunglasses; have glasses with a good vision correction to avoid squinting.
