The cleansing oil: a daily ally.

The skin is exposed to various elements day after day, and impurities can quickly accumulate, whether it's makeup, pollution particles, or sebum. Without thorough cleansing, these elements can clog the skin's pores and disrupt the nightly cellular renewal process. Therefore, to refresh the skin and maintain its balance, it is important to cleanse your face every evening. For this, the combination of a makeup-removing oil and a water-based cleanser (double cleansing) is particularly effective.

The cleansing oil stands out due to its lipophilic formula. Its principle is simple and is based on the following chemical postulate: "like attracts like". More specifically, the cleansing oil, rich in fatty substances, can encapsulate and dissolve greasy particles. This action makes it a particularly effective cleanser, capable of dissolving the most resistant formulas, such as water-resistant or long-lasting products, as well as pigmented or glittery eyeshadows, which are often difficult to remove with a standard cleanser.

What practices should be adopted when using a cleansing oil?

Whether you're using the 7-ingredient cleansing oil from Typology, which is 99% naturally derived and contains only essential ingredients for its function, or another, here's the procedure:

  1. Prepare your hands: Before touching your face, ensure that your hands are clean and dry. This will help prevent the transfer of impurities or microorganisms. Then, pour a few drops of cleansing oil into your hands and rub them together to distribute the product.

  2. Apply the cleansing oil to your face: Then perform broad circular movements on your face and neckline to remove makeup and other impurities. Start with the eyes and lips, to avoid the risk of bringing residues into the eyes. You can then continue on the rest of the face by massaging from the center outwards, not forgetting the eyebrows, for about sixty seconds.

  3. Rinse the cleansing oil: Then add a bit of water between your hands and gently sprinkle your face to achieve a milky emulsion. We recommend using lukewarm water, as water that is too hot or too cold may irritate your facial skin. Continue rinsing until all the oil has been removed.

  4. For a thorough cleanse : If you wish to perform a double cleanse, you can continue your skincare routine with the use of a water-based facial cleanser, such as a gel or cleansing milk. Don't forget to then properly hydrate your skin with a moisturizing cream suitable for your skin type.

Most cleansing oils can be used every evening, even if you're not wearing any makeup. In addition to removing makeup, they also help to remove sunscreen and dissolve impurities that have accumulated on the skin throughout the day.
