Comment bien choisir son huile de jojoba ?

How to Choose the Best Jojoba Oil?

Known for its composition, which is very similar to human sebum, jojoba essential oil prevents dehydration of the skin and hair, creating a protective film that retains water and protects the epidermis and hair fiber from external aggressions. To be sure to use the best jojoba oil for face, body and hair, here are three tips to follow.

1. Choose an Oil From the First Cold Pressing.

Jojoba oil is considered pure when it is labeled “virgin oil”. This means that it has not undergone any chemical transformation during its extraction, and that the impurities have simply been eliminated by filtering. On the packaging or product page of your oil, it should also say “first cold pressed”. This method of extracting the oil involves crushing the jojoba seeds using an oil press, which guarantees the optimal quality of the nourishing and sebum-regulating properties of the final product.

2. Choose an Oil From Organic Farming.

Organic certification ensures that no unauthorized phytosanitary products were used during the cultivation of jojoba. Cosmos and AB are the two types of certification for oils that have been produced in accordance with these specifications.

3. Monitor the Origin and Its Components.

In order to take your research a little further to ensure the quality of your jojoba oil, it is possible to rely on a few additional criteria, starting with the origin. Jojoba is a plant native to the United States, particularly California or Arizona, but more generally to Central America (Mexico). It is composed of gadoleic acid, erucic acid, palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid and oleic acid. Any other component is superfluous.

The best jojoba oil is therefore obtained from the first cold pressing of organically grown seeds and contains no other components.

Note: Jojoba oil has the advantage that it does not go bad or rancid due to its waxy texture. It is nevertheless preferable to use it in small containers, to be kept in a temperate place and protected from heat.
