Commonly known as: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil (I.N.C.I.), Sweet Almond.
Botanical name: Sweet Almond (Prunus amygdalus dulcis).
Extraction process: First cold pressing of the almond kernels.
Family: Rosacea.

Location: Middle East, Maghreb, Mediterranean rim, China, North and South America, South Africa, Australia.
Flowering: From the end of winter (from January to March), with fruiting beginning in June.
Provenance, origin: Spain.
Phytochemical composition: Polyunsaturated fatty acids (linoleic acid), monounsaturated fatty acids (oleic acid, palmitoleic acid), saturated fatty acids (palmitic acid, stearic acid), vitamins (A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, D, E, K), amino acids (arginine, lysine, tyrosine), phytosterols (beta-sitosterol, campesterol, stigmasterol), triacylglycerides, triterpenic alcohols (alpha and beta-amyrin), minerals (calcium, magnesium, chromium, iron, iodine, zinc, potassium, phosphorus).

Method of Preservation

Store in a dry and cool place, away from heat sources and protected from light.

Contraindications, Usage Precautions

There are no contraindications to the cosmetic use of sweet almond oil. Pregnant women and young children can use it. Avoid contact with the eyes. As a precautionary principle, topical application of this oil is not recommended for people sensitive/allergic to nuts.
