Bakuchiol seen by our expert.

Stéphanie Soulé, Scientific Communication Manager and Doctor in Life and Health Sciences, shares her opinion on bakuchiol results:

“Bakuchiol is a recent active in cosmetics but particularly interesting. This compound is extracted from babchi seeds, a plant endemic to the Himalayan region. It is both an active ingredient with antioxidant, anti-acne and anti-inflammatory properties demonstrated by several scientific studies, but moreover it is a compound perfectly well tolerated by all skin types, even the most sensitive! It also provides the advantage of being non-photosensitizing, unlike vitamin A derivatives that should be avoided at all costs in the morning. It is therefore presented as an alternative to retinol, capable like it of stimulating collagen synthesis.”

Bakuchiol at Typology.

Our blemish serum is a minimalist, fragrance-free treatment that contains only three ingredients: 1% bakuchiol (the optimal concentration at which it has been proven to work), hazelnut oil (INCI name: Corylus Avellana (Hazelnut) Seed Oil) and caprylic/capric triglyceride. Its function is to fight against excess sebum and reduce blemishes and blackheads.

Here are some reviews from our customers about their own bakuchiol before and after.

  • Chloe B. (18/10/2019): “Surprising smell, but its action combined with the salicylic acid serum saved my skin, no more micro cysts at all!”

  • Margot P. (17/11/2019): “No pimples when my period was approaching, which was my biggest concern. My skin is healthier. The only small downside is the slightly strong smell of the product, but it disappears as soon as it is applied.”

  • Estelle L. (04/12/2019): “I didn't believe it anymore; after pregnancy, the arrival of winter or stress I had like a mask, pimples everywhere. I know that my skin is not usually like this, so I wanted to try something natural to put it back in order, and I am delighted. In not even a week, my skin feels perfect, smooth, and I am very satisfied.”

  • Mathilde C. (23/12/2020): “Having hormonal acne for several years and after having tested many more or less expensive products, I am very surprised with the results obtained after one month of use. I apply it morning and evening, I do not find it too greasy, the texture is even pleasant. The first week, numerous pimples came out, but I continued the application thinking that it was maybe a normal reaction. I did well, currently I should have my cheeks riddled with small pimples and nothing! “

  • Amelie (05/05/2020): “I rarely write reviews but this time I had to!!! I have been fighting small pimples for years. I have been to many dermatologists who have recommended many products. I might as well tell you that I have tried everything but none of it worked. I had given up all hope of a beautiful skin until I tested Typology by pure chance and told myself. “It's natural, let's test it, it can't hurt.” A true MIRACLE and a clear before and after! After only 3 weeks of application of bakuchiol, I have nothing. After years, I can finally enjoy a skin without unsightly pimples.”

  • Elisa (02/05/2020): “The bakuchiol results were visible from the second week of using this serum. I have no more pimples or blemishes, I am very satisfied. I also used the anti-oxidant serum to even out my skin tone. It's perfect.”

  • Carolina (01/05/2020): “I have a combination and sensitive skin with punctual imperfections (blackheads, some periodic pimples…). Since applying this serum (which I use in the evening before bed, mixing it with two drops of Jojoba oil for hydration), my skin is much smoother, regular and especially my complexion is “clearer.” I'm really won over.”

  • Anne B. (07/24/2020): “I use it alternately with retinol. Less aggressive and fabulous for my skin. It's denser and firmer.”

Based on these reviews, people who have incorporated our blemish serum into their beauty routine have clearly seen visible bakuchiol before and after on their blemishes and refining of their skin texture. Some customers also use our bakuchiol serum to firm their skin and fight against wrinkles and have also seen results in this regard. It's up to you to adopt it according to your skin problem.
