Tips: Four ways to use micellar water.

Micellar water, a makeup remover and facial cleanser, is currently a trendy product due to its practicality and multifunctionality. However, its use does not stop there. Discover here other ways to incorporate it into your daily skincare routine.

Tip #1: Micellar water for correcting makeup application mistakes.

A botched eyeliner stroke, mascara smudges around the eye, lipstick that overflows or smears... the micellar water can be a new trick to fix and perfect your makeup. Without having to start all over, moisten an angled brush or a cotton swab in micellar water to clean up and correct minor makeup mishaps.

Tip #2: Degrease your hair with micellar water.

To mask the oily effect at the roots and thus delay the frequency of hair washing, dry shampoos are often used between washes to absorb excess sebum. However, although its original use was intended for removing makeup and cleansing the facial skin, micellar water would also work on hair as a substitute for dry shampoo to "refresh" it. Indeed, micellar technology would also help absorb excess hair sebum at the root of the hair, leaving it clean without having to resort to water or shampoo. To regain lightness, gently dab your scalp with a cotton pad soaked in micellar water.

However, this practice does not constitute a long-term solution. It is better to invest in a gentle, frequently used shampoo that is suitable for one's scalp. Similarly, this does not mean giving up on shampoo.

Tip #3: Clean makeup brushes with micellar water.

Dirty makeup brushes can harm the skin, potentially causing acne breakouts, skin infections, or irritations. Indeed, in addition to collecting product residues, dirt, and sebum, they provide a fertile ground for bacterial growth. Therefore, to protect the skin and kill all harmful bacteria that persist, it is important to clean them every 7 to 10 days. Micellar water is a good option to help remove any buildup of makeup on the brushes.

How to clean makeup brushes with micellar water?

  1. Begin by rinsing the tips in warm water to remove residual makeup products, taking care not to wet the brush head;

  2. Immerse makeup brushes for a few minutes in a container filled with micellar solution and swirl the tips of the brushes in the liquid occasionally;

  3. Rinse them again under running water, and wring out the excess water from the bristles using a clean, dry towel;

  4. Lay your makeup brushes flat, horizontally on a towel to let them air dry.

Tip #4: Clean false eyelashes with micellar water.

False eyelashes are not single-use and can be reused. However, it is imperative to properly clean them between each use to avoid any eye infections and irritations.

Instead of discarding your false eyelashes after a single use, you can give them a quick cleaning session with micellar water, especially if you apply mascara on top. This action will help to extend their longevity. Just as this skincare product can easily remove dirt, excess sebum, cellular debris, and makeup residues, it can give false eyelashes the same treatment.

How to clean your false eyelashes with micellar water?

With clean hands, begin by removing the adhesive strip at the base of the false eyelashes using a pair of tweezers. Then place your false eyelashes on a towel and soak a cotton pad with micellar water. Gently rub the fibers of the false eyelashes, from the base to the tips, to remove the remaining glue and mascara. Repeat this process until the lashes are clean. Once all the makeup and glue have been removed, lightly spray your false eyelashes with alcohol to disinfect them.
