What is the significance of complexion correctors?

The complexion correctors have been developed based on the principle of colorimetry. When considering the color wheel, we understand the relationships between colors and how to play with them to perfect our makeup. According to Johannes ITTEN, a Swiss painter from the 20th century, "the color wheel is a fundamental element of aesthetic color teaching, as it represents the classification of colors".

The appeal of color correctors lies in the properties of complementary colors. These are colors that are directly opposite each other on the color wheel. For example, red is complementary to green, blue is complementary to orange, and yellow is complementary to purple. When two complementary colors are mixed, their hues cancel each other out. This is why green correctors are so effective at concealing redness. As for the white corrector, its use is a bit more subtle.

How to use a white complexion corrector?

The white complexion corrector does not, strictly speaking, correct a pigmentation irregularity but rather illuminates a specific area of the face. This product is typically used at the inner corner of the eyes, the brow bone, or the center of the forehead to create points of light and a dimensional effect. It is also possible to apply a few dots of white corrector on the bridge of the nose, above the cheekbones, or at the cupid's bow, much like a highlighter.

To achieve a subtle and luminous finish, always proceed by applying light touches with your white concealer.

You can also use your white concealer as a base before your eyeshadow or your under-eye concealer. In the first case, this uniform and very light background will enhance the pigmentation of the colors you will subsequently apply to your eyelids. If you choose to apply the white concealer to your under-eye circles, it will intensely brighten your gaze, even if you have very pronounced dark circles, and will provide a better finish for your under-eye concealer. To finish blending your dark circles, we recommend our Typology tinted under-eye concealer. Enriched with niacinamide, caffeine, and cornflower hydrosol, this 2-in-1 treatment provides both high coverage and long-term effectiveness against dark circles.

Note : The white corrector is a tool more suited for individuals with fair skin, as the effect it provides on darker skin tones is less natural. If you have dark skin, we recommend opting for a beige corrector which will allow you to achieve a beautiful natural glow.
