Can men and women use the same cosmetic skincare products?
Yes, because there are skin concerns common to both sexes. Both men and women can have oily, dull, dry, dehydrated skin, with blemishes, etc... The response in terms of cosmetic care will involve the same molecule. In fact, on the market, what generally differentiates a moisturizing cream targeted at men from its counterpart for women is nothing more than the fragrance: woody, aromatic, fresh... for men and sweet, floral, cocooning... for women.
On the other hand, the evolution of the skin is indeed related to gender and hormonal fluctuations, in addition to lifestyle. Testosterone is the male hormone that influences men's skin. Men have more facial hair than women. They also have skin that is 20 to 25% thicker than that of women.
Daily shaving of facial hair in men sometimes leads to irritations, nicks, cuts, and ingrown hairs. Therefore, it is relevant for them to have access to gender-specific cosmetic products designed for their beards. Similarly, women may have skin issues related to their menstrual cycle or periods they are going through, such as menopause; cosmetic formulas specially designed for these concerns also provide interesting solutions.
