The causes of blackheads and enlarged pores.

Enlarged pores and blackheads are typically observed on the T-zone of the face, spanning from the forehead, down the nose, to the chin. However, in the case of oily skin, these imperfections can be found across the entire face. They give the skin a grainy and uneven appearance. Nevertheless, there are many other factors that can contribute to the occurrence of enlarged pores and blackheads:

  • An unhealthy lifestyle : Smoking, alcohol, stress, or an unbalanced diet can disrupt the activity of the sebaceous glands;

  • Theenvironment : Heat, sun exposure, and pollution promote the dilation of pores, the thickening of the stratum corneum, the overproduction of sebum, and therefore the development of blackheads;

  • Unsuitable cosmetic care: The use of overly harsh or comedogenic treatments can clog pores and thus trap sebum;

  • Hormonal fluctuations : Puberty, menstrual cycle, changes in contraception, or menopause... these are times when blackheads are likely to appear.

Which plant-based oil should you choose to combat blackheads and enlarged pores?

Thejojoba vegetable oil is composed of esters, saturated fatty acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, monounsaturated fatty acids, and sterols. It also contains unsaponifiables that help combat aging and protect the skin from external aggressions. The composition of this oil closely resembles that of sebum, which is secreted by the body. Jojoba oil exerts a sebum-regulating action, thereby helping to regulate the flow of sebum responsible for the dilation of pores and the formation of comedones, while strengthening the hydrolipidic film. Moreover, it softens and soothes sensitive skin. It also relieves irritations and redness, in addition to protecting the skin against external aggressions. Furthermore, it reduces wrinkles and densifies the dermal tissue.
