Details

Properties

  • Antioxidant, anti-glycation: Protecting the skin against glycation by breaking the bonds of sugars to proteins. This is a chemical reaction resulting in the attachment of sugar to proteins (AGEs), thereby altering their structure and thus their function;

  • Brightening: Restoring radiance to the skin by strengthening the walls of the blood vessels to protect them against the phenomenon of glycation and by stimulating the toxin elimination systems;

  • Firming: Promotes skin firmness by inhibiting the degradation of dermal fibers.

Applications

  • Facial Care (serums, eye contour creams/serums, face creams, masks);

  • Makeups (concealers).

Method of Preservation

Store in a dry and well-ventilated place between 59 and 77°F. Keep away from heat sources, direct sunlight, and moisture.

Find out more

Originating from Asia, Albizia julibrissin was imported to Europe in the 18th century by an Italian naturalist, Filippo DEGLI ALBIZZI, who was captivated by the tree's beauty following his expedition to Constantinople. In fact, the tree's generic name "Albizia" was given in his honor. Indeed, it produces delicate, filamentous red flowers during the summer. Albizia is used in cosmetics for its bark, the extract of which restores skin firmness and radiance by inhibiting the degradation of dermal fibers and strengthening the microvascular network. Indeed, Albizia julibrissin extract combats the skin signs of fatigue by fighting against the phenomena of glycation and glycoxidation. Glycation is a chemical reaction where excess sugar combines with the protein molecular structures of the skin, disrupting their structure and causing the elasticity of blood vessels to be lost. As a result, blood circulation slows down and the skin becomes duller and more tired. Moreover, the glycation of proteins makes them more susceptible to oxidation, a process known as glycoxidation, which results in skin aging.
