Details

Properties

  • Antioxidant: Prevent and combat oxidative stress and damage caused by free radicals through the trapping of singlet oxygen;

  • Anti-angiogenic: Concealing vascular imperfections (redness, telangiectasias, spider angiomas, varicose veins, petechiae, etc.) by slowing down the rapid growth of new blood vessels and strengthening the blood vessel walls through increased collagen synthesis;

  • Healing, regenerating: Enhance and speed up the wound healing process by increasing the proliferation and activity of fibroblastic cells to produce collagen and form connective tissue ;

  • Moisturizer: Preserving skin hydration by increasing the skin's water content through a mechanism that is still unknown;

  • Protector: Prevent and slow down skin aging by limiting the degradation of the components of the extracellular matrix through the inhibition of the expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP);

  • Restructuring, toning: Enhancing the firmness, elasticity, and tone of the skin by stimulating the synthesis of collagen and elastin.

Applications

  • Facial Care (purifying masks, serums, moisturizing creams, eye contour treatments, makeup removal lotions);

  • Hair Care (shampoos, hair masks) ;

  • Makeups (complexion correctors, concealers, eyebrow gels, bronzers, blushes, highlighters).

Although its use usually does not pose any particular problem, consider performing a skin test on a small area of your body before a full application on a larger surface. In topical application, pregnant and breastfeeding women can presumably use it without risk.

Find out more

Discovered in 1890 by Dutch microbiologist Martinus Willem BEIJERINCK, chlorella is a form of unicellular micro-algae (2 to 8 µm) cultivated in fresh water. It is a rich source of chlorophyll, a green pigment, from which its name originates. Furthermore, this green algae produces a growth factor with numerous benefits, called Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF). This ingredient gives chlorella an incredible cell renewal performance, allowing it to quadruple in size every 20 to 24 hours.
