Definition:
Hyper-reactive skin resulting in tightness, tingling, itching, irritation, heating, and sometimes accompanied by redness. These sensations of discomfort appear in an exacerbated way in reaction to stimuli. These symptoms can appear on the face or on the whole body.
Internal and external causes:
Heredity, skin aging, diet, hormonal imbalance, stress, air pollution, certain medical treatments (radiotherapy, etc.), UV rays, friction, allergic reactions, sudden changes in temperature, use of overly aggressive cosmetic products, certain skin diseases (rosacea, eczema, etc.).
How to reduce or eliminate:
Add soothing care products based on niacinamide, allantoin, Centella asiatica or panthenol to your beauty routine; favor moisturizing agents, combined with film-forming agents (hyaluronic acid, polyglutamic acid, glycerin, aloe vera...); integrate care products based on active ingredients known for their repairing effects such as fatty acids or nourishing oils to repair the skin barrier.
Preventative steps to take:
Choose gentle, moisturizing/nourishing skin care products; avoid products containing perfumes and irritating surfactants; moisturize your skin with a moisturizing and soothing cream that will protect it from external aggressions throughout the day; avoid grainy scrubs; avoid using cotton pads to remove makeup.
