Sesame oil to increase breast volume?

Many people are looking to incorporate natural ingredients into their skincare routine, particularly plant-based oils. Among these, sesame oil, known for its beneficial properties for the skin and hair, is becoming increasingly popular in cosmetic use. Some even attribute it with volumizing effects on the bust. But what is the reality? Let's separate fact from fiction.

Does sesame oil have an effect on breast volume?

Having a full bust has become a trend, prompting some individuals to resort to cosmetic surgery to align themselves as closely as possible with these new beauty standards. However, many people who do not wish to take this route are looking for natural alternatives to promote the development of their breasts and/or their buttocks.

Products known as volumizers have been formulated for this purpose in various forms (creams, balms, lotions...), increasingly flooding the cosmetics market. The effectiveness of these treatments is believed to be due to the presence of certain types of compounds found in several plants, known as phytoestrogens. These compounds have a structure comparable to that of steroid hormones, naturally present in the human body like estradiol.

Phytoestrogens are believed to have the ability to mimic the activity of this hormone, binding to specific receptors and thus generating hormonal effects similar to those of estrogens. Indeed, estrogens stimulate adipogenesis, the production of fat cells, in the breasts and other subcutaneous tissues. They can therefore increase breast volume to a certain extent.

However, when it comes to phytoestrogens, there is currently no scientific evidence to assert that they have the same effect. The hormonal influence of phytoestrogens remains challenging to study because, even though they resemble estradiol, these compounds are different from natural hormones. Therefore, it is impossible to claim today that volumizing treatments are reliable alternatives for gaining mass in the chest area.

Results from the topical application of sesame oil on the breasts?

The same goes for the sesame oil. This oil is suspected to increase breast volume because it contains lignans in its composition, namely sesamin, sesamolin, and sesamol. Now, lignans are phytoestrogens, which may explain the existing question about its potential volumizing effect. However, just like with volumizing treatments, no scientific study has addressed this topic.

Even though it seems unlikely that sesame oil could increase breast volume, it remains an interesting vegetable oil for taking care of one's skin.

The sesame oil, thanks to the fatty acids it contains, has notably nourishing properties. Thus, repeated application of sesame oil combined with a dynamic chest massage may, over time, exert a "firming" action. Nourished, the skin could indeed present a firmer appearance, which could limit breast sagging. However, further studies are still necessary to confirm this theory.

What can be done to enlarge one's breasts?

Today, to increase breast volume, one can opt for a mammoplasty, a surgical procedure that involves inserting a silicone breast implant either under the mammary gland or behind the pectoral muscle. It is also possible to slightly enhance the fullness of the breasts through physical exercises, particularly by working on the area around the pectorals. More muscular pectorals can indeed give the impression that the breasts are more developed.
