A brief overview of ferulic acid.

Ferulic acid derives its name from a plant called Ferula, a herbaceous plant that belongs to the Apiaceae family. However, this organic acid is also found in certain cereals (wheat, barley), in tree barks like pine, and in several fruits and vegetables (rhubarb, grapes, spinach...).

Thanks to its overall antioxidant power, it provides numerous benefits to the skin. It acts as a barrier and effectively fights against the assault of free radicals, thus slowing the appearance of wrinkles and pigmentation spots. It soothes any potential redness and irritation. It also helps to brighten and illuminate dull complexions.

The various products containing ferulic acid.

In cosmetic formulas, ferulic acid is typically introduced at a percentage ranging between 1.5 and 3%. It is predominantly found in serums designed to brighten and even out the complexion, as well as prevent the appearance of pigmentation spots and/or wrinkles. In day and night creams, it is often paired with vitamin C for a comprehensive antioxidant effect. It is also found in the composition of certain sunscreens or mist sprays for its ability to neutralize free radicals and thus prevent photo-aging.

The ferulic acid in serums.

A serum with ferulic acid is recommended in the fight against targeted issues such as skin aging, the appearance of unsightly spots and/or wrinkles and fine lines, and the loss of radiance.

If you are in search of a serum that evens and smooths your complexion while effectively combating the damage caused by free radicals, our antioxidant serum with ferulic acid and ashitaba extract is an excellent choice. You can incorporate it into your regular skincare routine, morning and evening. We recommend applying 3 to 4 drops of this serum on the face and neck after they have been thoroughly cleaned and dried. Gently massage the skin with circular motions until the antioxidant serum has been absorbed by the skin. We recommend using this serum for at least 4 weeks to see its effects.

Please note: As a precautionary measure, this product should not be used by pregnant and/or breastfeeding women as it contains essential oils.
