A face mask is an essential treatment for moisturizing, purifying and even giving the skin a glow. However, to take advantage of its benefits, a few rules must be followed, particularly with regard to the time of application.

The Face Mask: Before or After the Shower?
How To Apply a Face Mask?
Regardless of the type of mask you use, there are a few important steps to follow in order to apply it correctly:
Before applying the mask, make sure your skin is clean. To do this, cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser suited to your skin type;
Then gently pat your face dry with a clean towel;
Ideally, precede the application of your mask with a scrub for a better treatment action
Using a soft brush or your fingers, spread the mask in a semi-thick, even layer over your entire face, avoiding the eye area and lips. Don't forget your neck;
Leave on for 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the manufacturer's instructions, before removing with warm water. You can also use a soft glove to facilitate removal.
Note: There are beauty masks that are meant to be left on overnight, such as our firming face mask with prickly pear oil;
Once the time limit has passed, some masks also require that you gently massage your skin in circular motions for an exfoliating action. These include, for example, the peeling mask enriched with red fruit acid;
Then apply your usual care products: face serum, night serum, moisturizer, vegetable oil, etc.
Should the Face Mask Be Applied Before or After the Shower?
The shower is by definition the moment when you get rid of all the impurities that have settled on the surface of your skin throughout the day. However, the mask must always be applied to perfectly clean and makeup-free skin. We recommend that you take a shower and then apply your face mask, as your skin will be cleansed. In addition, after showering, the skin is better able to receive the active ingredients provided by the mask.
