After a hair removal session, the skin may feel tight, itchy, and warm. It is also possible to see ingrown hairs appearing in the following days. How can we avoid these types of discomfort? How should we take care of our skin after hair removal? Let's delve into this.
What to do after hair removal?
Soothing one's skin and calming irritations.
Skin sensitivity increases with hair removal. To soothe it, refresh it with cold water compresses or with native aloe vera gel. Moreover, to rebuild the hydrolipidic film that will have been altered by the hair removal, apply a nourishing treatment to the affected areas.
Right after hair removal, you can start by applying the hydrating gel Aloe vera & organic orange blossom to immediately cool the affected areas and deeply hydrate the skin. Then, once the gel has fully penetrated the epidermis, use the nourishing body cream Squalane 10% + shea butter. This treatment is enriched with nourishing active ingredients and will restore the skin's lipid barrier, reduce feelings of tightness, and protect the skin from external aggressions.
Preventing the occurrence of ingrown hairs.
Ingrown hairs are hairs that cannot penetrate the skin barrier or that exit the hair follicle outwardly but then curl back and re-enter the skin. For men, the face and neck are most vulnerable; for women, it's the legs, bikini area, and underarms. These areas are most susceptible due to shaving or waxing. While generally a minor issue, the resulting raised bumps can cause irritation, discomfort, and sometimes even become infected.
To prevent the formation of ingrown hairs during regrowth, choose a regular exfoliation. Perform it once a week.
Typology has developed two body scrubs using micro-exfoliating grains derived from ground apricot kernels.
The Nourishing Body Scrub helps to soften and smooth the skin. It is particularly suitable for dry and uncomfortable skin.
The Toning Body Scrub contains organic green coffee macerate (draining) as well as essential oils of lemongrass and organic cedar (anti-cellulite). It is recommended for smoothing, firming, and toning the skin while reducing the appearance of cellulite.
Note: Do not perform mechanical exfoliation immediately after your hair removal, but wait at least two days before scrubbing your skin.
