Under-eye Concealer: When to Apply it?
The tinted under-eye concealer is applied during one's morning beauty routine.
First and foremost, it is crucial to hydrate your eye contour to enhance the durability of the concealer and prevent it from settling into the creases of fine lines. Our eye cream for wrinkles and fine lines is formulated with coenzyme Q10 and prickly pear oil to hydrate and prevent the onset of the first wrinkles around the eye.
The second step (which is, of course, optional) involves the application of a foundation, BB/CC cream, or a tinted serum. Many people make the mistake of applying concealer before foundation. In reality, if the concealer is applied first, it may lose its corrective and illuminating effects.
Once your complexion is even, you can apply the concealer under your eyes. Apply an amount equivalent to a grain of rice of the concealer, starting from the inner corner towards the outer corner of the eye. If your dark circles are very pronounced, opt for the triangle method to provide better coverage and brighten your gaze. Gently blend by tapping with a brush or a makeup sponge.
The Typology tinted under-eye concealer.
At Typology, we have formulated a tinted under-eye concealer that is a hybrid between skincare and makeup. In addition to diminishing the appearance of your dark circles, it reduces them over time thanks to the active ingredients present in its formula:
Caffeine.
When we consume coffee, our sleep can be disrupted, which may be the root cause of the development or worsening of dark circles. However, studies have proven that the topical application of caffeine improves the appearance of dark circles. This paradox can be explained by the fact that caffeine stimulates blood circulation. Furthermore, it promotes lipolysis which helps to reduce under-eye bags.
The cornflower hydrosol.
Thecornflower hydrosol is renowned for its decongestant properties that help to reduce under-eye puffiness. By facilitating blood circulation, cornflower hydrosol stimulates the removal of accumulated fluids in the extracellular environment in the eye contour area. It thus helps to soothe tired and swollen eyes. It also helps to reduce the pigmentation of dark circles, making the gaze refreshed and brightened. Furthermore, cornflower hydrosol also provides an anti-inflammatory and soothing action for the thin and delicate skin around the eyes.
Niacinamide.
The niacinamide, or vitamin B3, helps to reduce the appearance of blue dark circles by stimulating blood circulation and helps to achieve a more even complexion.
When our tinted under-eye concealer is used as a corrector, the niacinamide helps combat blemishes due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
It also aids inrestoring the skin's barrier function and contributes to the healing process.
