Which cream(s) should be used for blemish-prone skin?

From puberty, and even into adulthood, the skin is prone to pimples and other blemishes. Unattractive, but not impossible to eliminate. In order to treat this type of skin, it is important to choose a specific cream... and the right one!

Characterization of a skin with imperfections.

The blemished skins or acne-prone skins are a type of skin that is characterized by its propensity to develop comedones and pimples. Unlike other skin types, they stand out due to an overproduction of sebum caused by a disorder of the sebaceous glands. Blemished skin is a condition that can affect all skin types, but particularly combination to oily skins.

Hyperserborrhea, or the excessive production of sebum, is among the primary causes of skin imperfections. It can be accompanied by dysserborrhea, which is a change in the quality of the sebum produced by the sebaceous glands. It's important to note that sebum contributes to the formation of the skin's hydrolipidic film. If there's a disruption in sebum production, the skin becomes fragile, blemishes appear, and the skin surface becomes shiny. Indeed, when the face produces an excess amount of sebum and/or this combines with dead cells, bacteria, sweat, etc., it becomes trapped in the pores and can no longer flow freely. This can lead to bacterial proliferation, which the skin responds to with inflammation. However, if these types of daily residues are not regularly cleaned, imperfections become established.

Which cream should be used to treat blemished skin and what are its benefits?

The priority for skin prone to blemishes is to reduce the risk of pore obstruction. Therefore, it is necessary to control excess sebum. The goal is to balance the natural production of oils to restore the skin's proper hydration level. The purifying face cream is among the recommended treatments for blemish-prone and/or acne-prone skin. Based on zinc PCA and bamboo extract, this treatment contains a significant amount of sebum-regulating active ingredients and ingredients that fight against bacterial proliferation or acne pimples.

Zinc is a sebum-regulating active ingredient, meaning it works by controlling sebum production. L-PCA acid, on the other hand, serves as a physiological vector that enhances the absorption of zinc by the various skin layers. The combination of these two active ingredients sanitizes and purifies the skin. Moreover, these ingredients halt bacterial proliferation due to their antiseptic and astringent properties. In case of irritation, they soothe the effects of redness and stimulate the skin's collagen production. Bamboo extract contains active ingredients that repair the skin. This is the case with silica, which is involved in the reconstruction of skin cells. Combined with the flavonoids and polyphenols included in the extract, this active ingredient is also appreciated for its properties capable of slowing down the premature aging of the skin, as well as the effects of oxidative stress.

As of now, there are no known contraindications regarding the use of bamboo extract or zinc. However, this skincare product is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women due to the presence of essential oil.
