All skin types require daily hydration. However, it is essential to choose a cream that is suitable for your skin type and specifically formulated for your age, as each skin type has unique needs that must be respected. Given that the face requires special attention, the process of applying your cream should also be meticulous. Follow our steps to properly apply your cream and optimize product absorption.
How to apply a face cream?
The correct techniques to adopt for properly applying your moisturizing cream.
The facial skincare routine should consist of various steps, including the application of a cream. This step comes after cleansing the skin with a product that meets its needs. To do this:
First and foremost, remove makeup from your face to eliminate all traces of impurities. Makeup remover milk, micellar water or makeup remover oil, choose the makeup remover that is suitable for your skin type;
You can then clean it with a lotion or a cleansing soap suitable for your skin type;
Once these steps are completed, you can wait for 15 minutes to maximize the effects of your cleansing treatment. After this period, your skin will be dry and ready to receive your face cream ;
Before proceeding with the application, use your usual serum and possibly an eye contour care.
This is now the stage where applying the cream comes in, and it requires precise movements:
Morning and evening, on perfectly cleansed skin and with clean hands, take a small amount of your cream, equivalent to the pulp at the tip of your finger;
Warm the cream between your hands to bring it to your skin's temperature and facilitate its absorption;
Begin applying your cream starting with the cheeks, which are often drier areas. Stretch the product from the inside out, two to three passes are sufficient. Avoid the eye contour, which is more delicate and sensitive, as facial creams are often not suitable for this area;
Then move to the temples, making small circular movements to massage your face and stimulate blood circulation;
Finish with the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin). Apply your skincare product to your forehead using horizontal movements to avoid deepening wrinkles, always moving from the inside out. Don't use too much product on the nose: the pores are generally larger there, and the cream can get lodged in them. Finally, apply moisturizing cream to the middle of your chin and work outward;
Don't stop at your chin; the skin on your neck and décolletage is also susceptible to pigmentation spots, loss of elasticity, and wrinkles. Therefore, apply a small amount of cream from the bottom up to counteract gravity and thus prevent neck sagging;
Before applying other products or makeup, wait approximately 5 minutes for the skin to absorb it.
