Différents types de gel douche

The various types of shower gel.

Whether you have sensitive, oily, or dry skin, it's important to match your shower gel to its nature. That's why shower gels come in several varieties. What are these different types of shower gel?

The exfoliating shower gel for combination to oily and blemish-prone skin.

The exfoliating shower gel is a body cleansing product, where exfoliating agents (glycolic acid, salicylic acid, micro-grains of apricot kernels, salt shards, etc...) have been added to the base formula. It helps to lift all the dead cells and impurities present on the surface of the epidermis, thus boosting cell renewal and promoting the penetration of moisturizing agents applied afterwards. Moreover, by smoothing the skin texture, the appearance of imperfections (comedones, brown spots, etc...) is reduced, and the formation of ingrown hairs is limited. Finally, the exfoliating shower gel also helps to tone and firm the skin.

Those with combination to oily skin or blemished skin may be tempted to try this type of shower gel. Even though it exfoliates the skin, this shower gel can be used daily without fear of stripping or irritating the skin due to its low concentration of fruit acids or the fineness of the particles. However, daily use does not eliminate the need for regular body scrubs in addition. However, the exfoliating body wash is not suitable for dry, reactive skin, or skin prone to irritation. Indeed, their exfoliating action dissolves the lipids of the hydrolipidic barrier or the micro-beads present in the product can create physical aggression (micro-lesions, etc...). Thus, over time, the skin can become drier and more sensitive.

The shower oil for dry skin.

Theshower oil is a body cleanser with a slightly foamy texture and a significant percentage of beneficial oils, most often of plant origin, unlike other shower gels. It is appreciated for its soothing, regenerating, and nourishing properties. The bath oil helps to rid the body of all the dirt on the surface, while respecting the hydrolipidic balance of the epidermis. It covers the skin with a non-greasy protective film to reduce the drying effect of hard water, to comfort and soothe the skin from tightness, itching, or clothing friction, and to protect the skin from external aggressions (sun, pool chlorine, pollution, etc...). Thus, this lipid-replenishing cleansing oil is ideally suited for dry skin.

The shower cream for dry and sensitive skin.

The shower cream is a cleansing product with a creamy, enveloping texture, rich in hydrating and lipid-replenishing active ingredients (oils, butters, emollients...). In a single step, it nourishes the skin, counteracts the drying effects of hard water, prevents the feelings of tightness experienced after showering, and leaves a protective film on the body after rinsing to shield it from environmental aggressors, all while cleansing without stripping. The cleansing cream is therefore recommended for dry, sensitive, irritated skin prone to feelings of discomfort.

The hypoallergenic shower gel for sensitive, reactive, and atopic skin.

The hypoallergenic shower gel is a product with a more neutral, respectful, and gentle formulation than a standard shower gel. Indeed, this type of body cleansing gel contains a minimum of ingredients, and is free of any alkaline and allergenic components (soap, parabens, synthetic fragrance, alcohol, dyes, sulfates, phenoxyethanol, etc...). It thus allows for skin cleansing, while minimizing the risks of allergic skin reactions related to its use. Therefore, this type of shower gel with a pH close to that of the skin is a good choice to avoid harming the epidermis and to soothe sensitive, fragile skin prone to irritations, while protecting them from undesirable skin effects (tingling, tightness, itching, redness, etc...).

The over-greasy shower gel for dry and sensitive skin.

The superfatted shower gel is a highly concentrated body hygiene product in superfatting agents such as vegetable oils, vegetable butters, etc... Thanks to its formulation, it allows for deep nourishment, softening, soothing, and calming of the epidermis, while creating a protective veil on the skin after showering that has the same properties as the natural hydrolipidic film. This helps to combat skin dryness, protect the skin from all external aggressions, and maintain its hydration. The superfatted bath gel is particularly suitable for sensitive and dry skin.
