Hyperpigmentation Around Eyes (Brown Dark Circles)
Definition:
Brown circles, resulting from a hyperpigmentation around the eyes (accumulation of melanin pigments in the superficial layers of the epidermis). They mainly affect people with darker skin.
Internal and external causes:
Exposure to UV rays, genetic predisposition, certain skin pathologies (eczema, etc.).
How to reduce or eliminate:
Illuminate and lighten the eye contour area with care products that are concentrated in depigmenting active ingredients (niacinamide, tranexamic acid, vitamin C, ferulic acid, etc.) or gentle exfoliating acids (gluconolactone, etc.); radiofrequency; use a concealer that is very close to one's natural skin tone to camouflage the hyperpigmentation around the eyes.
Preventative steps to take:
Apply sunscreen daily to the face in order to avoid the pigmentation under the eyes.
