4 tips for a fresh and radiant complexion upon waking.

Deteriorating lifestyle habits, lack of sleep, use of harsh or unsuitable skincare products... achieving that dreamy fresh complexion isn't always easy. But what if, in reality, that coveted "glow" relies on a series of daily actions? Here are the ones you need to know.

1. Daily Makeup Removal.

Removing makeup is not overly complicated, however, doing it correctly is an art that needs to be mastered. Contrary to popular belief, it's not enough to simply apply a makeup remover to eliminate all the impurities on the skin's surface. To optimize your makeup removal, it's better to rely on a routine that comes straight from Asia, which includes the use of two distinct formulas: an oil-based cleanser and a water-based one. This ritual is called the double cleansing method.

When thecleansing oil, the cleansing balm or the micellar water work to remove makeup, excess sebum, dead skin cells..., the cleansing gel refines the cleaning process by removing dust and impurities that may have slipped through the net of the first formula. Thanks to these two products, the skin is completely clean, and is ready to receive the active ingredients of skincare treatments.

2. Exfoliate the skin once to twice a week.

If exfoliation is so crucial in your beauty routine, it's because it allows for a deep cleansing of the pores so they don't get clogged by sebum, impurities, dead cells, or leftover makeup. Why? Simply because when they are blocked, they no longer allow cellular waste to pass through to be expelled, thus preventing them from renewing properly. To be performed once or twice a week on average, the exfoliant can be used in the form of achemical exfoliant (that is, fruit acid-based) or amechanical exfoliant (micro-grain based). While one works by detaching impurities, the other dislodges them through friction. The only downside: the latter can be slightly aggressive for the most sensitive and reactive skin types, who may prefer enzymatic or chemical formulas.

3. Sleep at least 8 hours per night.

Even though it's true that stress, daily activities, and increasingly prolonged exposure to blue light do not make sleep any easier, it is still crucial to allow yourself at least 8 hours of rest per night. Why? Simply because when you sleep, your cells actively regenerate. In fact, cellular renewal peaks between 1 and 3 in the morning. This process allows the skin to rid itself of toxins accumulated during the day. That's why sleep plays such a vital role in the beauty of your epidermis.

4. Choose the right active ingredients.

To enhance the complexion of each skin type, it is first necessary to provide them with active ingredients tailored to their specific issues:

  • If you have dry or sensitive skin:

Choose a serum or moisturizer based on oils with soothing properties such as thebotanical blend radiance with white rose. This not only provides the skin with what it lacks, namely fat, but also prevents water from evaporating from the skin tissues during the night. All this, while being perfectly tolerated by the most sensitive and atopic skin.

  • If you have oily skin:

Oily skin needs to be regulated without being assaulted by overly abrasive or drying treatments. To do this work, active ingredients such as thetea tree essential oil (purifying), therose geranium essential oil (antibacterial and soothing), or even thehazelnut vegetable oil (sebum-regulating), allow for the rebalancing of the epidermis, gently.

  • If you have normal to combination skin:

While, at first glance, normal skin does not suffer from any imbalances, it can sometimes become combination skin when it is not properly hydrated. The right move? Apply a night serum or a moisturizing cream based on rosehip vegetable oil (a powerful antioxidant), hyaluronic acid (which retains water in the cells) or even jojoba vegetable oil (nourishing and sebum-regulating).

  • If you have mature skin:

Mature skin tends to lose its elasticity and radiance. To combat this issue, theprickly pear vegetable oil (firming and regenerating), hyaluronic acid, or the hibiscus vegetable oil (antioxidant and softening) are the active ingredients that provide the most results for tightening and plumping the epidermis.

  • Hydrating the skin even when it's oily:

Hydrating oily skin? It may seem like a contradiction. However, even oily skin requires care that can strengthen its hydrolipidic barrier while regulating sebum production. This task is accomplished by the serum and the purifying moisturizing cream working hand in hand. The former, with its light and easily absorbable texture, delivers its active ingredients directly into the dermis. The latter, on the other hand, provides the right balance of water and oil to seal the skin barrier. Everything oily skin needs to regain its balance.
