Soins à base d'huile de calendula.

In which products can we find calendula macerate?

The presence of calendula in cooking, dyeing, and traditional medicine has made it a staple since the Middle Ages. Today, due to its anti-inflammatory and healing properties, it is incorporated into the formula of various types of cosmetic products, where it is primarily used in the form of oil extract, to care for the skin of babies, young children, and adults, including pregnant and breastfeeding women. We have summarized them for you here.

Cosmetic products with calendula oil.

The calendula (Calendula officinalis) is a medicinal plant that has been used in phytotherapy for a long time due to its numerous virtues, particularly for its softening and soothing properties. Obtained by the maceration of its flowers in a virgin vegetable oil, the oily extract of calendula is ideal in the design of "natural" skincare for the whole family. Although it can be used pure, both on the hair and on the skin, for various applications, calendula oil can also be incorporated into the design of cosmetic products.

  • Lip Care. Chapped, damaged, irritated, or dried out by the cold, some lip balms contain calendula oil. It is used to soothe these ailments. Beyond its calming virtues, calendula aids in the regeneration of damaged skin tissues.

  • Calming and restorative care. Cream, mask, balm, sun care products, after-shave oil, after-sun care... several calendula-based treatments have been developed, whether for the face or the body. Calendula is ideal for softening and soothing dry, sensitive, atopic, sensitized, and reactive skin. Indeed, its petals contain faradiol, an anti-inflammatory that helps to reduce redness and calm all sorts of irritation (superficial sunburn, razor burn, insect bites, tightness, minor burns, skin allergies, breastfeeding cracks, etc.).

  • Skincare to slow down skin aging. Another advantage of calendula extract is its antioxidant properties on the skin due to its concentration in flavonoids (kaempferol, quercetin, luteolin, etc.). It is thus found in the list of ingredients of serums and creams in order to protect and prevent premature degeneration of cells. When applied to the skin, it protects the skin against free radicals.

  • Gentle cleansing care. For a gentle and protective cleansing, calendula macerate can also be found in certain cleansing products (makeup remover oil, micellar oil, superfatted soap, etc.). It thus allows the removal of impurities and makeup traces on the skin, while soothing the skin irritated by external aggressions.

  • Baby Care. Massage oil, diaper cream, body and hair wash... calendula is also found in products that meet and respect the specific needs of an infant's delicate skin, taking care of both the baby's face and body at every moment of the day. For bathing or as a daily care, calendula flower extract helps to protect the baby's sensitive skin, prevent and soothe irritations and redness from the diaper area, and regenerate the epidermis. It is also present in creams intended to soothe thediaper rash.

  • Scalp relief care. The use of calendula macerate in the composition of hair care products helps to combat inflammation, reduce the risk of irritation and itching that can cause discomfort, and protect sensitive scalps. Found in certain shampoos, it allows for frequent hair washing, while respecting the sensitivity and balance of the scalp and hair fiber.
