Large Pores

Definition: Pores are the channels attached to the sebaceous glands through which sebum drains. Large pores generally affect oily skin and are most often observed on the T-zone of the face (forehead, nose and chin). Studies have proven that there is a correlation between sebum production and pore size, meaning that the more sebum the skin produces, the larger the pores. When pores dilate and become visible, they encourage the appearance of blackheads and pimples.he channels attached to the sebaceous glands through which sebum drains. Internal and external causes: Gender, genetic predisposition, skin aging, chronic exposure to UV rays, comedogenic xenobiotics, overproduction of sebum (hyperseborrhea), poor skin hygiene (accumulation of dirt and impurities on the surface of the skin), hormonal fluctuation, hair thickness.
How to reduce or eliminate: Use an astringent treatment (zinc PCA, glycolic acid, lactic acid, niacinamide, etc.); apply a retinol treatment to accelerate cell regeneration; moisturize the skin to plump up the epidermis and improve the tone of the skin around the pore (hyaluronic acid, urea, etc.); aesthetic treatments (HydraFacial, laser, dermatological peelings).
Preventative steps to take: Apply sunscreen and limit exposure; moisturize your skin well; do a double cleansing to eliminate impurities and accumulated dirt that make them larger; exfoliate your skin once a week to get rid of dead cells, complemented by the application of a clay-based mask; avoid skipping the makeup removal step at night.
