Despite their small size, blackheads can be particularly unsightly on the face and spare no one. Rather than waiting for these comedones to disappear on their own, only to return later, take the initiative to get rid of them once and for all. Here are 3 selections of blackhead-fighting products that you absolutely must incorporate into your daily routine.

Product No. 1: A makeup remover/face cleanser.
A healthy, blemish-free skin is primarily a well-groomed skin, with gentle care tailored to its type. Therefore, it's only natural that your fight against blackheads begins with a deep cleansing. Wash your face in the morning and/or evening to remove impurities according to your skin type. However, don't settle for just any cleansing product. Indeed, it would be a shame to further damage your epidermis with harsh treatments that would trigger an abnormal production of sebum. Our nettle cleansing care or our charcoal soap are among the many treatments for blemish-prone skin that we offer. You can also opt for our exfoliating facial cleansing gel based on gluconolactone (PHA) and aloe vera or our purifying facial cleanser with zinc PCA and bamboo extract.
In the evening, precede this step with a makeup removal, an essential part of any beauty routine. At Typology, we offer three types of makeup removers with different formulations, suitable for all skin types, even sensitive: cleansing oil, micellar water and cleansing balm. These treatments help to remove all traces of makeup, pollution, sunscreen and other impurities accumulated during the day, leaving the skin clean without drying it out. They are applied with a cotton pad previously soaked in the product or by hand, while gently massaging the skin.
Note : Open comedones can also develop on the back, chest, or shoulders, parts of the body that are most rich in sebaceous glands. In this case, opt for a blemish-fighting shower gel concentrated in exfoliating active ingredients (glycolic acid, mulberry acids, etc...) and purifying ones (tea tree extract, zinc PCA, rosemary essential oil, etc...) in order to unclog pores, reduce blemishes, and as a bonus, fight against the appearance of ingrown hairs by detaching dead skin cells.
Product No. 2: An exfoliating mask.
As blackheads are largely due to the obstruction of pores by dead skin cells, exfoliating the facial skin proves to be a way to combat them. We therefore recommend our peeling mask with organic red fruit acids. In addition to unclogging the pores of your face, this treatment softens, smooths your skin texture and brightens your complexion. Ideally, exfoliate once or twice a week, making sure to first cleanse your face. This process helps you get rid of the dead cells accumulated on its surface, thus reducing the risk of comedones. Exfoliation also promotes the renewal of skin cells. Apply it in a semi-thick layer on your face, then let it act for 10 minutes. Before rinsing thoroughly with clear water, gently massage the skin with circular movements to activate mechanical exfoliation. This mask is suitable for all skin types, particularly dull skin lacking radiance, as well as skin prone to surface irregularities (rough skin, enlarged pores, blackheads, etc...).
For dry and reactive skin, it is generally recommended to use a grain-free scrub to avoid further irritating the epidermis. Our gentle peeling serum with lactic acid and acerola extract is a good alternative for making the facial skin smoother, brighter, and more uniform. Unlike glycolic acid, lactic acid, known for its exfoliating effect on the superficial layers of the skin, penetrates less deeply into the epidermis and is therefore less irritating than the latter. This treatment should be applied only in the evening, using 3 to 4 drops on a previously cleansed face.
Product No. 3: A Moisturizing Treatment.
Proper hydration helps prevent the appearance of blackheads by regulating sebum production. Indeed, when the skin is under stress (such as dehydration), it is likely to produce more sebum, which promotes the formation of blackheads. Similarly, just because you have combination or oily skin doesn't mean you should neglect hydration. Therefore, opt for a gentle care product that suits your skin type. Whether in gel or cream form, this product should be applied daily.
oily skin , which experiences an excess of sebum and is therefore more prone to developing blackheads, should opt for matte moisturizing creams . Due to its content of sebum-regulating and antibacterial active ingredients, our purifying face cream made with 4% zinc PCA and bamboo extract is ideal for moderating sebum secretion, refining skin texture, and preventing the appearance of unsightly blackheads. It should be applied daily on clean, dry skin, over your face serum , using small circular movements during application until the cream is fully absorbed. However, this cream is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women due to the essential oils it contains. On the other hand, if you have dry or rather sensitive skin , our moisturizing cream with 9 ingredients is more suitable.
