Oily Skin: Which Skincare Products To Use?

Oily skin is characterized by an excess of sebum. This lipidic film secreted by the sebaceous glands serves above all to protect the skin. Nevertheless, produced in excess, the skin tends to glow and the obstruction of the pores can lead to imperfections. Find the beauty routine to adapt to purify your oily skin.

How To Know If You Have Oily Skin?

Oily skin is generally shiny and oily. These characteristics are explained by the excess production of sebum. Secreted by the sebaceous glands, it contributes to the protection of the skin. However, in large quantities, sebum creates a favorable climate for the formation of blackheads and pimples.

In addition, the skin appears dull and thick, the skin texture is irregular and the pores are visible and dilated. If you recognize yourself in these descriptions, you probably have oily skin, but fear not! The right beauty routine can help you cleanse your skin and restore it to a healthy state.

How To Take Care of Your Oily Skin?

We advise you to opt for skin care products containing active ingredients with purifying, mattifying and astringent properties, such as azelaic acid, AHAs (glycolic acid, lactic acid, etc.), BHAs (salicylic acid, etc.), niacinamide, zinc PCA, etc... Several steps are essential to purify oily skin.

Remove Your Makeup Every Night

Whatever your skin type, removing your makeup is essential. Apply makeup removal oil directly to your face until all makeup has disappeared. Complete this gesture with the 7-ingredient micellar water.

Clean Your Skin Daily

Wash your skin with a gentle cleanser that respects the skin's balance (alcohol-free, fragrance-free, etc.). Otherwise, your skin will react by producing more sebum. You can use our balancing cleansing care with nettle, made by craftsmen in France and 100% natural. Saponified cold, it is composed of essential oil of eucalyptus globulus and nettle powder.

You can also apply our purifying cleansing gel. Concentrated in purifying active ingredients such as zinc PCA, this cleansing gel purifies the skin, regulates sebum production and limits the development of imperfections. You can then apply peppermint hydrolate to rebalance the skin's pH. Note that for oily skin, cleansing with a gel should only be done in the evening so as not to stimulate sebum production. In the morning, apply only the hydrolat to purify your skin.

Use Targeted Skin Care Products

Start by applying the mattifying serum, which is highly concentrated in azelaic acid. It helps regulate sebum production for a mattified skin appearance. Contrary to popular belief, don't neglect your skin's daily moisturizer. Then apply the purifying face cream. Enriched with sebum-regulating and antibacterial active ingredients such as zinc PCA, this cream purifies the skin and fights skin imperfections.

Exfoliate Your Skin

The glycolic acid serum helps to remove sebum for smoother, more even skin. It should only be applied at night. Note that it does not rinse off! The first uses may cause slight redness while the skin gets used to the molecule. These effects fade after several uses. However, it is not recommended for sensitive skin.

Use Masks

To regulate sebum production and unclog clogged pores, our purifying mask with charcoal and green clay with a clay-like texture can be applied once or twice a week to clean, dry skin.
